Students and staff from Shrewsbury School, alongside members of The Shewsy team, came together for the latest Shrewsbury School Sponsored Walk, raising funds to support young people in Everton and invest in the future of The Shewsy.
This year’s walk saw participants take on the 19-mile route across the Shropshire countryside, continuing a long-standing tradition that takes place every five years and has connected Shrewsbury School and The Shewsy for generations.
Funds raised through the Sponsored Walk will support The Shewsy’s youth programmes and contribute towards plans to redevelop our ageing centre, helping ensure our facilities can continue serving local young people for years to come.
The Sponsored Walk is much more than a fundraising event. It is a visible reminder of the unique relationship between Shrewsbury School and The Shewsy, a partnership that stretches back more than 120 years. Since 1903, generations of pupils, staff and supporters have helped sustain a shared commitment to creating opportunities for young people growing up in Everton.
Alongside students and staff from Shrewsbury School, members of The Shewsy team also took part in the walk, helping raise awareness of the charity’s work and sharing stories of the impact youth work continues to have across Everton.
We’re Still Fundraising
The Sponsored Walk may be complete, but our fundraising campaign remains open. Every pound donated helps The Shewsy continue delivering life-changing youth work opportunities and supports our plans to redevelop and future-proof our sports hall and facilities.
Whether you sponsored a walker, cheered from the sidelines, or are only just hearing about the challenge, you can still be part of the impact.
